RISE VISTA
RISE VISTA Program
VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) was founded in 1965 as a national service program to fight poverty in America. In 1993, VISTA was incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs. AmeriCorps VISTA taps the skills, talents and passion of more than 7,000 Americans annually to support community efforts to overcome poverty.
26 AmeriCorps VISTA members will provide low-income parents and their children access to health services, economic supports, developmental and education skills through Community based Family Resource Centers (FRC’s). The result will be improved heath access, social emotional development, and literacy and numeracy skills that prepare children to succeed in school.
