Family First Sacramento is the Comprehensive Prevention Plan (CPP) for Sacramento County Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services – Child Protective Services and Probation Department. Family First Sacramento shares the vision that Sacramento County’s children, youth and families are safe, healthy, and able to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities through the county’s commitment to valuing and supporting the needs of our diverse population.

The Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) and a State of California time released block grant provide Sacramento County with a unique opportunity to change how we do business and serve communities. This is our chance to establish a prevention-focused, community-based, county wide structure that focus on social drivers of child and family health and well-being to support families before they come to the attention of public systems.

The Child Safety Forward Sacramento Prevention Cabinet supports and serves as the governing body to Family First Sacramento.
