Building Program Capacity

The Child Abuse Prevention Center (CAP Center) is an evidence-based organization, highly successful in helping keep kids safe.  Of the 140,000+ served, 96% of parents receiving early childhood services and parenting education do not enter or re-enter Child Protective Services.  Helping build capacity allows the CAP Center to raise awareness, mobilize support of communities and policy makers, foster collaborative efforts, and help more children and their families.  Support in this area means:

  • Our experts can create new programs that target specific populations; for example, at-risk juveniles who have a parent in the prison system and are soon to be reunited.

  • We can enhance current successful programs; for example, instead of supporting 500 military families through the Child Welfare System Improvement program, we can support twice that many.

  • Partner agencies would be able to get more resources from us to help more families in their communities; for example, we increase the number of trained staff to the county family resource center.
